RENATO AND ITS BLUE CAPS Group formed in the early '60s by brothers Renato, Paulo Cesar and Edson, young residents of the district of Piedade, Rio de January, Nice and cool with the name of Rock da Piedade. The first name was censored radio and Jair de Taumaturgo suggested the final name, inspired by the whole American Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps. Played on the radio and on television programs such as The Shoots commands, as TV stations, presented by Carlos Imperial. They recorded their first single in 1962 and became famous mainly for the versions that made American music, like "Beautiful Girl" version of "I Should Have Known Better," "Until the End" version of You Will not See Me "(both the Lennon / McCartney) and" Scandal "version of" Shame And Scandal In The Family "(Donaldson / Brown). Already in 1963, Edson left the group and began a solo career under the name Ed Wilson. He was replaced by Erasmo Carlos, who had a brief involvement in the group. They became a success if the program featuring Young Guard, at concerts, festivals and dances. Renato had compositions recorded by other artists, like Roberto Carlos and Lilian and Leno. The group was formed by Renato Barros, voice, Erasmo Carlos, substitute Edson Barros, voice, Carlinhos, electric guitar, and later Tony Gelson, battery , Paulo César Barros, bass, and Cid, saxophone.
